Fundraising

The Muir PTA provides funding for art and science programs, technology, library improvements, classroom supplies, field trips, and other projects in support of our students.

Major fundraising events include:

Annual Giving (September – June) The PTA asks each family to give what it can to support the PTA’s programs. Our goal is 100 percent participation at any level of giving.  Installment payments by credit card gladly accepted.  Paypal also accepted (see Donations page).

Innisbrook Sale (September-October) Students bring home catalogs from the Innisbrook gift wrap company. Families are encouraged to sell Innisbrook products to friends, relatives, and co-workers. PTA receives 50 percent of sales, including online purchases made year-round (www.innisbrook.com; be sure to input school ID number 109174).

Jog-a-thon (Dec. 10, 2010)

Be a sponsor, volunteer, pledge donations, watch the kids run, and support our "Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds" Jog-a-thon.  All proceeds benefit John Muir's Art, Science, and Technology Programs.  Students, eat a healthy breakfast, wear appropriate clothing and shoes, bring your donation form and money, and BE READY TO RUN!  All are welcome to this high-energy fundraiser -- also the year's biggest fundraiser!

Silent Auction (May)- Parents, community members, and volunteers come together to make this a memorable evening enjoying food and drinks while bidding on amazing items donated by local families, local businesses and Muir students.  All proceeds benefit the John Muir PTA.

Book Fair (May)
Children and their families are encouraged to purchase items at the Scholastic Book Fair, held in the Media Center.

Flea Market (year-round)
The John Muir Flea Market is held the first Saturday of each month. Vendor fees are an important source of revenue for our PTA.

eScrip & Albertsons Community Partners (year-round)
These programs allow you to raise money for the PTA simply by using your credit card to shop at certain stores or Internet businesses. Sign up online using Muir’s ID number: www.escrip.com (6540794); www.albertsons.com/cp (ID number TBA; or ask for a sign-up form in the school office).

Printer Cartridge Recycling (year-round)
Earn money for Muir each time you recycle a computer printer cartridge. Place an individual cartridge in a preaddressed plastic envelope available in the school office, and simply drop it into a mailbox.  Larger toner cartridges may be placed in a box by the entrance of the library near Room 205. You can recycle batteries as well in the main office.
