The PTA sponsors various Special Events and Projects aimed at building community among John Muir families, including:
Spirit Wear (year-round)
Show your school spirit by buying and wearing John Muir T-shirts every Friday for Spirit Fridays. Child and adult sizes available.
Green Team (year-round)
The PTA’s Green Team collaborates with the SMASH PTSA on gardening projects and initiatives to promote sustainable living. Our campus gardens are outdoor classrooms supported by the SMMUSD Gardening Angels program, a variety of grants, and the PTA. The gardens are integrated into classroom and after-school activities to teach students about nature, nutrition, and the connection each person has with the world at large. Plans for the year include a butterfly garden, a recycling center, a hot composting bin, and the ongoing cultivation of vegetables and flowers, all in cooperation with the SMASH community.
